Menu Monday and More!

We're back to Menu Monday. Finally, our house is back to "normal" whatever that might be. So it's back to eating actual meals instead of stuff just thrown together! So here's what we're eating this week:

Monday

Oatmeal with bananas

Noodles

Lemon Pepper fish, spinach, rice pilaf

Tuesday

Bagels

sandwiches

Orange pork chops, mashed potatoes, veggies, applesauce

Wednesday

Eggs and Toast

Chinese

Chicken Divan, rice, asparagus (please, Lord, can I find some?) or peas

Thursday

Bagels

Grilled Cheese

hamburgers, fries, green beans

Friday

muffins

noodles

Broccoli cheddar soup, bread

Saturday*

Cereal

Sandwiches

Chicken Nuggets and fries

Sunday

Eggs and Toast

Eating out

leftovers

* I wanted to make a note, Saturday, March 13, is a day of fasting for our company as they are choosing a new president. Whether or not you choose to fast, please try to think about it on that day. It will be a decision that will change things all around the world! Hope you all have a great week!

So you are saying the Saturday meals are for the kids?
Mackenzie (one of my admins) and I were talking about the 30 minute meals they make on TV. She is a cook like you. She says she can't do them in 30 minutes either. She noted that they have everything already chopped and cooked (like 2 cups of cooked chicken breast - image me sounding like Julia Child saying that). It is 30 minutes from the time everything is ready to put it all in its final form. So consider the fact that you had to actually cut the pork chop and cut up all the things and measure all the things as prior to the 30 minute time. Love you; kiss the kids for Nana.

Not Rachael Ray. She starts with everything not prepped. And in 30 minutes, from the start of the show and working through commercials, she chops, peels, saute's and simmers everything. And talks the whole time...granted she's been doing it a long time (and has probably practiced said recipe) and she has no kids and therfore no potty breaks, fighting, screaming, potential life-threatening (haha) injuries. I think I just move slow...so sad...maybe one day!
